Public swimming pools

In Bangkok, the number of municipal or public swimming pools is limited. Many are old, but they are not expensive and above all, they have large hours.

Lumpini Park swimming pool

Lumpini Park has a whole center for sports activities: tennis, badminton, gym and a swimming pool. It is a 25 meter pool.

Not far from the Sathorn district, Swimming Pool Military Battalion is a military base and it is possible to swim there. There is a large outdoor pool and a small pool ideal for children. The pool is a bit old, but that’s ok. Apart from school holidays, there are not many people.

Bangkok Youth Center (Thai - Japan)

Not too far from Victory Monument, the Thai-Japan center offers great facilities with: a stadium, rooms for team sports, a gym, a space for Muay Thai and above all an indoor Olympic swimming pool (50 m).

Note:
The lanes for swimming are not mixed: on one side the men, on the other the women. An evaluation test is carried out to know the level.

The medical certificate

To have a medical certificate, you need to go either to the hospital, or to go to a private medical practice, or to public dispensaries. It is this third solution that it is preferable to choose. Why ? Speed and price. Dispensaries are present in all districts of the capital. To find them, just look for a sign with a green cross.

The Goethe-Institut offers exhibitions in a welcoming and very charming setting, as well as a pleasant swimming pool. 25m long and accommodating 4 lines, this outdoor swimming pool is a good compromise between municipal swimming pools and swimming pools in a hotel.

For people allergic to chlorine, finding a swimming pool is often an obstacle course. Some centers offer alternatives to chlorinated water, however the entry price is high.

Sivalai Clubhouse Ozone Pool

Exception in the register of non-chlorinated pools, this pool offers water that can respond to the most sensitive people. If the equipment is a bit old and the setting not the most pleasant, it remains a pleasant place where you can spend a good moment of relaxation.
